Sarah Wernert, Figure Net Gain

A former college volleyball player, Sarah Wernert used to practice serves and blocks for the University of California, where she earned a degree in Education; these days, the 5-foot-9, brown-eyed native of Pittsburgh invokes her athletic “digs” as a figure competitor.

The self-described “tomboy” — she also played softball, basketball, and ran track — recently took fifth in the penultimate tall class at the Junior Nationals. Her playful personality alluded to in photos at the Studio is sure to come to life in Sarah’s new video clips — coming up soon — with inventive twists and fun surprises.
