Figure Season Starts Local for Jamie Byron

Rocky Mountain Muscle: Jamie Byron will kick off her figure season at the NPC Northern Colorado.

After spending seven months away from competition to improve her look, figure girl Jamie Byron returns to the stage this year with a lot confidence thanks to some great feedback during the off season. She said training has been going well and she feels great about the changes to her physique. “Everyone has been telling me that it is impressive how I transformed myself,” she told me last week.

The Colorado native is less than seven weeks out from opening the season at a local event, aligning her with the NPC Northern Colorado on April 12. “My coach thinks I have a good chance at taking the overall win in open figure,” she said. Next up for the 30-year-old would be another national level show, perhaps the Jr. Nationals again in June.

We met Jamie at Jr. Nationals last year and were blown away by her great look coming off what was just her first national show. Add to that, she’s only been training to compete for about three years and had very little muscle when she started. Now that has changed dramatically and the 5-foot-6 beauty continues to be a rising star. “I have always loved lifting weights and the look of a muscular physique,” she said during our interview last year. “There are certainly not that many women who are capable of lifting as heavy as I can.”

Or ones who look as good as Jamie while doing so.
