Steel Sensation: Figure queen Tracy Pruitt is in her best shape ever to challenge for a pro card this year.

Fresh from her best season, Tracy Pruitt enters 2014 as close to winning a pro card as she’s been since beginning in figure four years ago. She plans on making her season debut at the Team Universe in Teaneck, New Jersey on July 4 and competing again, two weeks later, at the Masters Nationals in Pittsburgh, Pa.

The 37-year-old personal trainer and nutrition specialist says her off season training has been going well. “I want to do just as good or better this year!” she said this week from her hometown of Richardson, Texas.

Any better would mean a trip to the pro ranks. Last year, Tracy claimed third-place finishes in two national-level shows and just missed a pro card for the top two at Team Universe. She’s been one of the most consistent competitors in the sport and has never finished out of the top ten.

Tracy was in her best shape ever during a terrific encore photo shoot at last year’s rain swept North Americans—the adorable blonde showing improvements in back and shoulders (her favorites) to go with fine tuning an already outstanding upper body and those deeply etched, signature abs. At just under 4-foot-11 and about 100-pounds in contest shape (112 off season), Tracy is easily pound-for-pound one of the strongest figure girls on stage.
