Cool and Confident: Figure competitor Olivia Moschetti resumes a quest for a pro card beginning at Jr. Nationals this summer.

It’s one last cheat meal for Olivia Moschetti this weekend before it becomes time to get serious. “I actually start my prep for Jr. Nationals tomorrow,” the rising star figure competitor told me earlier on Sunday. Olivia also said her training has been on point throughout this off season and the striking 23-year-old is sounding confident and ready to claim her pro card this summer. “I’m thinking this year is the year,” she said.

The former Colorado State University soccer player has a great chance to make that dream a reality. She took seventh in women’s physique at the Jr. Nationals last year and was 13th in a more competitive figure class at USAs. After bouncing between physique and the figure divisions a year ago, she’s back in figure heels for 2014. She plans to compete again at USAs this year, unless she wins the prize in Chicago.

Olivia began weight training in middle school and was involved in several sports during high school including basketball, soccer and track & field. She’s now a personal trainer at Armbrust Pro Gym in Colorado. The strapping 5-foot-6, 135-pound athlete has mentioned delts as her favorite area to train and she definitely showed off some serious ‘boulder shoulders’ during her debut shoot in Las Vegas last summer. Another year of intense training—adding more size to already amazing biceps and quads—promises she’ll be even more impressive to watch this year.
