Streaking Heather Dees Shines at Jr. Nationals

Radiant young figure star Heather Dees strikes a sexy pose in her studio debut from sunny California.

More news from the contest beat as reigning California State overall figure champ Heather Dees, 26, continued a banner season at Junior Nationals over the weekend with an excellent sixth-place finish in class D. It was the Utah native’s best finish ever on the national stage and, even more impressive, she achieved it in the most competitive height group of the show (37 women).

Not bad for a girl who didn’t even know what a figure show was until just a few years ago. Heather began working out in 2005 looking to shed some extra weight and soon was competing as a runner in 5ks, 10ks, and half-marathons.

Looking for another challenge — and a way to get those magazine worthy six pack abs — the idea of physique competitions came along, ultimately taking her fitness quest to the next level and completely changing her life (she eventually married her trainer).

I never in my life would have thought I could be able to step on stage in front of thousands of people wearing a bikini,” Heather recalls in her athlete bio. But in ‘08 at her figure debut, she not only stepped on stage, she owned it, winning the overall at the NPC Utah Classic.

Now I’m hooked,” she says. Heather loves her legs, has the abs she was dreaming of, and — if she keeps going at her current pace — will have a lot more trophies and maybe a pro card in hand before long.
