Chrissy Flips for Fitness

Put another point in the win column for the Save Fitness campaign as former figure girl Chrissy Zmijewski recently announced her decision to crossover into the fitness ranks. The 31-year-old plans to make her debut at the Contra Costa, a national qualifier, on May 22nd.

Making a Point: Chrissy’s strength, muscle, athleticism and creativity will be supremely showcased as a fitness competitor.

Chrissy has been competing since 2006 and holds a pro card for both figure and bodybuilding in the WNBF. Last year, the 5-foot-9, 132-pound personal trainer placed fourth in the figure tall class at the NPC Sacramento in her hometown, but missed the cut later at Nationals.

On switching to fitness, the former college volleyball player and track & field athlete says in an interview, “I’m not a gymnast but I love teaching myself handstands, flipping and challenging my body. So look out for me on the fitness stage soon.” Read the full interview with Chrissy here.

Also a fitness author, Chrissy’s new book “RAD Triad: Transform Your Mind and Body,” is set for release next month.

Best of luck to Chrissy on her new fitness journey. Hopefully more competitors and potential crossovers will follow in leading fitness — by far the most entertaining and exciting division — out of the shadows and back into the limelight in the months ahead.
